"Chihiro and the Witches"

That's the Norwegian title for this excellent anime-movie (not that I have seen a lot of them..)! It's known by other names such as "Spirited Away" or "The Spiriting Away of Sen and Chihiro", directed by Hayao Miyazaki. I just watched it on the TV (it saved me from destroying myself with all the zapping) I found a small plot summary:
Chihiro and her family are on their way to their new house in the suburbs when her father decides to take a shortcut along a lonely- looking dirt road. After getting out of the car and walking along a path for a while, they discover an open-air restaurant filled with food but with no workers or customers present. Mom and Dad don't hesitate to sit down and dig in, but Chihiro senses danger and refuses. As night falls, she is terrified to see the area fill with faceless spirits, but when she runs to find her parents, she discovers that they have been turned into pigs. She is found by a mysterious boy named Haku, who promises to help her. He gets her a job working in a nearby building, which turns out to be a spa hotel for the thousands of Japan's gods and spirits. Though the work is hard and the people strange, she does as well as she can. Her parents, however, are still waiting in the hotel's stockyard, and Chihiro must find a way to break the spell on them before they end up as the main course of some guest's dinner.
The movie represents most of what I love about anime (and Manga), and especially the fantasygenre! Mystic, spiritual, fantasy, excitement, everything! There are also a lot of morals in this movie, but what I paid attention was the characters and the drawings. I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of how the humans were drawn. I'm more of a "typical Manga person". My favourite drawings are like those you find in "InuYasha", "Love Hina" and "Power!!". But don't get me wrong; Chihiro is amazing! I actually get inspired to start drawing something again now :) Too bad it's over midnight.. I can't sit down and start drawing now, can I? Or maybe I can... Hehehehe! Watch out pencil, here I come!!
Oh, and by the way; Haku (in the movie) can turn into a dragon (see picture above). Wouldn't it be awesome to have that ability??
